On the cusp of departure.

The bags are packed — we're travelling more lightly than usual this trip, which is good. The house is clean. Houston even found the time (in between vacuuming stuff) to replace the light bulb in the laundry room. We're waiting for our friend who is (very kindly) going to take us to the airport.

I'm still pretty nervous about the Thailand thing, but so far the Australian government is not saying "Stay away! Stay away!" So we won't. (And we've registered with the Australian embassy so, in theory, they can find us if things start to get wildly out of hand.)
