Progress on my Gauntlet challenge
So far I've written a flash piece, which does NOT count toward my three-stories-finished criterion but at least keeps the writing mojo flowing, scrawled a few more words on one of the stories that does count, and at least made a bunch of lovely pages in my notebook, each with a heading describing exactly which facet of my YA world will be built thereunder. Most of the pages are still...blank. But it's progress merely to have set up the pages, no? No?
So how do you store turtle power in a battery for use in keeping small boats up in the air?

Turtle power, huh? Is this steampunk, or what? How big are they? Anyway, without knowing more of the ecology of the supernatural, how about:
1. Submerge turtles in tank wrapped in copper wire, make shell out of magnet (or affix one to the shell)
2. The power of 99 happy turtles, something rare in this world if you've ever seen turtles in a group, is enough to power any engine known to man.
3. Turtle shells strapped with solar panels.
4. Burn turtle excrement for power.
5. Tie a string to said turtle, and let their movements create kinetic energy that winds springs and tension gears. Release gears to power engine/fan.
Now, if they were BIG turtles this'd be way easier. :)
All good ideas, Chris, and worth considering. Many thanks.
